Recoil and settings by weapon

AKM The AKM has heavy vertical recoil and a noticeable horizontal drift, with a lower fire rate than 5.56 rifles. Each shot kicks harder, so the first rounds of a burst climb the most. M416 The M416 is the benchmark for control: moderate vertical, an even burst and the most benefit from attachments. That's why it's a favourite primary. ACE32 The ACE32 pairs 7.62 damage with a more forgiving kick than the AKM or Beryl: the vertical is noticeable but even, and the fire rate is comfortable. Beryl M762 The Beryl M762 hits enormously hard, but its recoil is the highest in class: the vertical ramps sharply after the first shots and strong horizontal spread piles on. Groza The Groza fires 7.62 very fast — the burst empties quickly, so the muzzle climbs sharply and early. AUG The AUG A3 is one of the most accurate, stable rifles: low recoil, an even burst and good grouping even on a long string. SCAR-L The SCAR-L is very close to the M416 in control: recoil is slightly more noticeable, but the character is just as even and predictable. M249 The M249 lets you fire a very long burst, but recoil builds as you shoot: the longer you hold the trigger, the more the muzzle drifts. RPD The RPD fires 7.62 yet holds surprisingly steady: the vertical is strong but predictable, without sharp jumps. MG3 The MG3 fires very fast and in 7.62 — the combination gives heavy, rapidly building recoil. In return, the volume of fire is enormous. MP5K The MP5K pairs a high fire rate with low recoil — one of the most comfortable SMGs up close, with a tight burst. UMP45 The UMP45 fires slower than most SMGs, but its recoil is low and very predictable — which makes it reliable at mid range for its class. Vector The Vector spits a burst out lightning-fast: per-shot recoil is small, but the fire rate builds the vertical very quickly and empties the magazine in a blink. Tommy Gun The Tommy Gun hits hard point-blank, but without a stock it climbs noticeably and takes almost no optics — this is a pure close-range weapon. JS9 The JS9 is more flexible than most SMGs: it takes optics, has a single/auto fire mode and moderate, predictable recoil. VSS The VSS is nearly silent with low recoil, but its subsonic round loses height very fast — at range you need a large upward hold.
