Sometimes antivirus flags PUBG URC as a suspicious file and blocks the launch. Let's look at why this happens and how to fix it without breaking your computer's protection.
Why it happens
The app interacts with the mouse and runs on top of the game. Antivirus sometimes reads that behaviour as potentially unwanted — by a combination of signals, not because it found real malicious code. This is called a false positive and happens with many legitimate gaming utilities.
How to add to exclusions
Using the built-in Windows Defender as an example:
- Open "Windows Security" → "Virus & threat protection".
- Go to "Manage settings" → "Exclusions" → "Add or remove exclusions".
- Add the folder where the app is installed.
Third-party antivirus names the path similarly: look for an "Exclusions" or "Trusted applications" section and add the app's folder there.
How to stay safe
- Download the app only from the official site — not from mirrors or file-sharing hosts.
